Hélène Moumrikoff, Managing Director of Gesip, presents the nature and influence of the organization in the evolution of industrial regulations and safety techniques. She explains how Gesip 's technical expertise contributes to the reinforcement of industrial safety through the testing and evaluation of numerous safety technologies.
Gesip has established itself as an international reference in industrial safety. What does your entity's know-how consist of?
We have been specialists in industrial safety since 1953. Gesip is a community of industrialists and experts who work to reinforce the safety of people and installations through technical expertise and training. As such, we offer consulting services to industrial and logistic sites as well as to administrative authorities.
To achieve its mission, Gesip federates about sixty French and international industrialists, members of different industrial sectors. We work together to improve industrial safety within the framework of exchange and study groups, in which Gesip gathers the positions of the best experts on the safety subjects at the heart of the sector.
Gesip is known for having developed a high quality technical expertise, what about it?
Recognized by the authorities, Gesip's expertise and neutrality allow our organization to be involved in the elaboration of numerous regulatory texts that cite our methodological guides as references. This is the case, for example, for those concerning POI or pipelines and for the work in progress on CNG and GNV.
Gesip has two technical platforms, unique in Europe, located in Vernon and Roussillon, equipped with full-scale teaching units within industrial infrastructures. They allow us to carry out trials and tests to ensure the safety and efficiency of existing or emerging technologies.
Thus, Gesip has built a 300m2. Its unusual dimensions of 50 m long and 6 m wide make it possible to study the new fluorine-free foams on slick fires in real conditions in order to simulate slick fire scenarios such as the Lubrizol fire.
The infrastructures of our sites also allowed us to ensure CAF tests with performance tests of a foam generator embarked on a fire truck with compressed air foam propulsion or LPG sting tests as well as a performance evaluation of a PONS robot.
In addition, we have performed evaluations of williams high flow guns, performance testing of a fire retardant subjected to an ignited gas stream, and fire resistance evaluations of bonded and non-welded materials.
In connection with the army, in particular within the framework of the Barkhane operation, Gesip has carried out tests on the combustion of the envelope of water tanks, tanks for the SEA, and fuel tanks.
Finally, Gesip's experts conducted boil over tests to control the phenomenon of the sudden vaporization of water trapped by the product, which causes a destructive fireball for the installations.

What training services are offered by Gesip within its industrial infrastructures?
Risk management is based on the knowledge of events and the sharing of experiences. Thus, we offer many training courses dedicated to industrial and logistic sites.
Gesip also provides its partners with its technical platforms and its team of trainers to enable them to organize an event, training, or a demonstration of products and services.
Gesip's technical platforms have diversified workshops to promote training in dynamic situations on large hydrocarbon fires, chemical leaks, interventions in confined environments, risk alchemy and immersion in crisis management.
Thanks to a unique combination of capitalized technical knowledge and full-scale infrastructures, Gesip has become a reference in industrial safety training.
Gesip's existing expertise is an undeniable asset to avoid reproducing past patterns. It is also a solid basis for capitalizing on new knowledge in the long term, developing a concerted regulatory framework and strengthening the safety of activities.
