Support for the transition to non-fluorinated foam concentrates – (2026/01)

JANUARY 2026 REVISION
This guide is a revision of the 2024/01 Best Practices document, which has been available since January 2024.
The purpose of this revision is to:
* Take into account the knowledge gained since the initial draft,
* Add a chapter dedicated to describing the end-of-transition dossier.
The initial version from January 2024 included an appendix listing several cleaning methods used by various manufacturers that enabled compliance with regulatory PFAS limits.
The authors chose not to include this appendix in the updated version, given the experience gained in this area by Gesip members.
Readers may refer to Chapter 5 of the EU Guide “Guidance for transitioning to Fluorine-Free Firefighting Foams” (link), which presents several examples of decontamination.
