The Gesip and France Gaz Liquides partnership
How did the partnership between France Gaz Liquides and Gesip come about? How did this collaboration come about?
France Gaz Liquides is a member of Gesip. A few years ago, our two organizations had already developed this type of partnership on the Vernon site. The evolution of FGL and our training needs training needs in the Rhône-Alpes regionThe evolution of FGL and our training needs in the Rhône-Alpes region naturally led us to a GESIP solution.
The triggering event was the bringing together of our structures within the same offices in La Défense in July 2021, which made it easier for us to work on the contractual and operational details.
What is the added value for France Gaz Liquides professional training courses to take place on the Gesip centers' installations?
The professionalism of the trainers and the quality of the the quality of the Roussillon fire training center are highly appreciated by our trainees. The Gesip training center is, in fact, equipped with full-size teaching units within industrial infrastructures equipped with all the facilities necessary for the realization of practical exercises including around large static and dynamic fires.
The geographical position of Roussillon in Isère is also an asset. It allows us to meet the expectations of our customers in the Rhône-Alpes region.
We have already trained 165 trainees in 2021. We expect to train 200 in 2022.
FGL professional trainings in the Rhône-Alpes region - biogas, butane & propane
Can you tell us more about the specific France Gaz Liquides training courses? Who are the target audiences? What are the objectives of these professional training programs for the industry in partnership with Gesip?
We propose to the actors of the energy sector and the gas industrysector, we offer tanker & delivery driver qualifications issued by FGL. They are intended for :
- Tanker truck drivers who distribute butane & propane gas to customers;
- to the tankers who carry out the installation and removal of the tanks in customers.
The France Gaz Liquides training courses, in partnership with Gesipare open to drivers who already hold the specializations required under the ADR (Agreement for Dangerous goods by Road).
They are a contractual contractual complement to the regulatory training coursesbut in no way replace them.
Butane and propane distributors who are members of France Gaz Liquides undertake to include in their transport contracts specific clauses relating to the competence of their drivers: in order to increase the level of safety in the logistics chain, drivers are trained in the specificities of butane and propane gas transport.
Issued by France Gaz Liquides, the professional qualifications are required by the butane and propane gas distribution companies that are members of the association, in addition to the regulatory training, and are recognized by the public authoritiess.
The FGL training courses in partnership with Gesip lead to the delivery of a certificate of qualification. In case of non-compliance with laws, regulations, procedures, instructions and guidelines in the professional context, this certificate may be cancelled.
To what extent does France Gaz Liquides' action fit in with sustainable development policies and the promotion of new energies?
France Gaz Liquides is an association that promotes the opportunities of butane-propane and LPG energy. These liquid gases, which are storable, transportable and available everywhere in the country, are a real asset in the resilience plan. Indeed, they are less carbon intensive than other fossil fuels and do not come from Russia.
Thus, liquid gases are already part of energy management policies and the ecological transition. In addition, the industry is working and investing massively in renewable liquid gasesBiopropane has been available since 2018, and will be followed by r-DME, a renewable dimethyl ether, another promising molecule for achieving "net zero" by 2050.
