Successful tests of fluorine-free foam at the Gesip Vernon facility

The first official test of fluorine-free foam at this facility was conducted over a two-week period in June 2021.

Over the course of these two weeks, 22 different tests were conducted using six different fluorine-free foams in various combinations (conventional suction systems, compressed-air foam systems, suction nozzles, and suction monitors, etc.) to simulate a range of scenarios.

The key takeaway from these various tests is that all of them were successful. In conclusion, the fluorine-free foams developed as part of this initiative can be used to respond to major oil spills.

En effet, l’objectif principal des fabricants est de planifier une éventuelle transition du PFAS contenant des mousses à une option sans fluor.

A big thank you to the Gesip and LASTFIRE teams for organizing the event and for their exceptional work over the past two weeks!
